Wendy is coordinating the first fundraiser. She is still accepting bottles of wine for a basket raffle, and selling tickets for $10 each or 3 for $20. The winner will be drawn at our first social, Oct. 3rd.
She reviewed some other fundraising ideas and got input from club members. She will continue to explore options and keep us informed.
Annette gave an update on our clubs relationship with Berks Catholic. They have a new Guidance Counselor and Annette will meet with her to explore joint project opportunities.
Tim discussed several potential new members. He continues to invite them to meetings and to our upcoming social. He suggested we try to leverage the YR Club as a preferable venue for joining an organization.
Annette said that the YR club gave us permission to have a Rotary sign announcing our club meetings.
All members are encouraged to attend the Oct. 3 social and bring a friend or colleague.
District 7430 is again participation in the Potato Project in Fleetwood. The project will support the Berks Food Bank. The district’s assigned date and time is Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1:00. Anyone interested in helping should contact Dave for more information and directions to the work site.
The West Reading/Wyomissing club will start meeting at Brickstone’s at Hill and Park (formerly Viva’s) on the 1st and 3rd Thursday at noon. The 2nd and 4th Thursday will be a Happy Hour Social. The first meeting will be Sept 6.
Annette reminded everyone of the club’s commitment to have 8 volunteers to help with the food banks senior packing project on Sept 20 from 4 to 7. We need more volunteers. Friends and family welcome and encouraged to help.
